Simply Walk Into Mordor Challenge

In J. R. R. Tolkien’s masterpiece “The Lord of The Rings” Frodo and Sam must travel across Middle-earth in order to destroy The One Ring.  Thanks to the Lord of The Rings Project, we know that Frodo and Sam crossed 1800 miles of Middle-earth in 6 months and 3 days.

Your challenge will be to form a fellowship of 1 – 9 people and walk/run/bike a combined 1800 miles over the course of 2025!

The average person passively walks 2 miles a day.  Over the course of a year if you and only one ally walk 2.5 miles a day you will achieve your goal!

We have created a spreadsheet that makes it easy to log your miles.  We also have many landmarks from the books mapped out by miles so you know where you are in the journey.  Once your fellowship has combined to walk, run, or bike 1800 miles you will be awarded this prestigious certificate.

Check out our “How To Play” and “FAQ” guides to learn more!
